The Visit - Movie review

Eure

Hello my lovelies!

I was at the movies - again. Just to tell you a bit about "The visit".

This is the synopsis:

The siblings Becca and Tyler are on vacation at their grandparents farm. The kids have never seen their grandparents (Nana and Pop-Pop) before because their mother left her home after an argument with Nana and Pop-Pop long time ago. The mother of the siblings did never go back to her parents. To her it's really surprising her parents sent her an email and asked if Becca and Tyler want to come for a visit. Of course they did! After they arrived at their grandparents, everthing's fine. The elderly couple lovingly take care of Becca and Tyler. Only one rule exists: Don't leave your room after 9.30pm! One night Becca wants more of Nana's cookies and left the room. This is were she runs into her grandma and THIS is the beginning of all the strange things that happens after 9.30pm only...

This is what I say:

To be honest I wasn't expecting a movie like this, but it was a really good movie. I thought this would be an awesome horror movie and ended up laughing out loud in the cinema. IMDB categorized the movie as comedy/horror. It was all of that! There were some real good scary moments that let the audience scream and some funny elements like the absolutely awful rapping Tyler. If you can't decide if you like to see a comedy or a horror movie, then "The visit" is the perfect solution for you. The ending was very unexpected and therefore another plus factor.

For the scary and the funny moments and the surprising end I'm giving this movie 5 stars out of 5!

Have you already seen "The visit"? What's your opinion? Let me know it!

See you soon,

Fack ju Göhte 2 / Suck me Shakespeer 2 - a movie review

eure

Hello my lovelies!

Again I was at the cinema for you and this time I watched the new movie with Elyas M'Barek "Suck me Shakespeer 2".

This is the synopsis:

Principal Gerster wants to push the image of her school. That's why she wants to alienate the Thai twin school from the renowned Schiller secondary school. This suits Zeki Müller, who still is a teacher at the Goethe school, very well, because his girlfriend Lisi has donated a very special stuffed animal to the school in Thailand with more than the usual filling in its belly. With help of his students Chantal, Zeynep, and Danger, Zeki incapacitates the teacher Mrs. Leimbach-Knorr to get his hands on her budget for a school trip to the island Föhr. In exchange for that, the three students demand to be included in the environmental club and therefore to participate in the trip going to Thailand. As they arrive there the real fun begins - at least for the students - and Mr. Müller finds himself on the verge of madness...

And this is what I say:

I really liked the sequel to Suck me Shakespeer very much. The jokes were great and nailed it very often (and very hard). My absolute favourite character in this sequel is "Ploppi", who suffers from Asperger's syndrom. Chantal and Zeynep were great, too. The original movie has been a bit better, but that doesn't mean the sequel is bad. If you loved the first part, you'll like second, too. The end of the movie offers a nice view (wink). You absolutely have to wait til the end of the credits, because you won't only get a look behind the scenes, but also some hilarious outtakes.

So today I'm giving 4 stars out of 5!

Have fun and see you soon!

Book-Challenge book 4 - Today: Passagier 23 by Sebastian Fitzek

Hallo meine lieben Äpfelchen!

Heute habe ich einen Psychothriller für euch!

Sebastian Fitzek - Passagier 23

Das sagt die Beschreibung:

"Denken Sie an einen Ort ohne Polizei. Eine Kleinstadt, aus der Jahr für Jahr Dutzende Menschen verschwinden. Spurlos. Der Ort für das perfekte Verbrechen.
Herzlich willkommen auf Ihrer Kreuzfahrt!"

Das sage ich:

Martin Schwarz ist Polizeipsychologe. Vor fünf Jahren verlor er Frau und Sohn während eines Urlaubs auf dem Kreuzfahrtschiff "Sultan of the Seas". Das Verschwinden seiner Familie blieb ungeklärt, niemand konnte ihm genau sagen, was geschah.

Hello my lovelies!

Today I wanna talk about a psychothriller, but I'm not really sure if it's already translated into English.

Sebastian Fitzek - Passenger 23
(I guess)

This is what the backcover says:

"Think about a place without police. A small town where dozens of people disappear. Every single year. Without a trace. The place for perfect crime. Welcome to your cruise!"

This is what I'm saying:

Martin Schwarz is a psychologist for the police. Five years ago he lost his wife and his son while making holidays on a cruise liner called "Sultan of the Seas". Nobody was able to tell him what happened exactly. Since this incident Martin is a psychological wreck, risking his life on dangerous undercover investigations. But one day he gets a call from a strange elderly woman who is telling him that he has to come on board of the "Sultan" immediately. There is new evidence of what happened to his wife and son.
Martin had sworn to never get on a ship again but he decides to visit the old lady on the "Sultan".  On board he finds out that a girl who was missing since weeks suddenly appeared on board again - with the teddybear of his son in her arms...

I am not the typical thriller reader, but this story was really exciting. Together with Martin you'll go on a trip which is both exciting and disturbing. If you like thrillers you'll surely gonna love this book. Read it, as soon you'll get the chance to!

Today I give 4 stars out of 5!

See you soon!

Book review - Cecilia Ahern: P.S. I love you - P.S.

Hello my lovelies!

Today I have a special book for you - almost a classic!

Cecilia Ahern - PS I love you

This is what the synopsis says:

Some people wait their whole lives to find their soul mates. But not Holly and Gerry. Childhood sweethearts, they could finish each other's sentences and even when they fought, they laughed. No one could imagine Holly and Gerry without each other. Until the unthinkable happens. Gerry's death devastates Holly. But as her 30th birthday looms, Gerry comes back to her. He's left her a bundle of notes, one for each of the months after his death, gently guiding Holly into her new life without him, each note signed 'PS, I Love You'. As the notes are gradually opened, and as the year unfolds, Holly is both cheered up and challenged. The man who knows her better than anyone sets out to teach her that life goes on. With some help from her friends, and her noisy and loving family, Holly finds herself laughing, crying, singing, dancing - and being braver than ever before. Life is for living, she realises - but it always helps if there's an angel watching over you.

This is what I am saying:

I had NEVER EVER cried my eyes out while reading a book before. Never. The storyline is so heartwarming and moving - I cried like a baby. Forget the movie! I have to say, that this book is a thousand times better than the movie! Really!

I'll give it 5 stars out of 5!

Book review - The boy in the striped pyjamas - Der Junge im gestreiften Pyjama

--- ... --- ... ---

Hello my lovelies!

Today I want to give you a review about a book which is a little sad.

John Boyne - The boy in the striped pyjamas

It's the story of the nine years old boy named Bruno. Bruno is the son of an army officer and thanks to the war, Bruno and his family has to move - to a place with a strange name. It is the story of an unusual friendship and of the insanity in a concentration camp seen with the eyes of a child.

Like I said before, this story is a bit sad but nevertheless it's really worth reading! Your journey starts with Bruno and his sister Gretel. Together with their parents they are leaving Berlin and move to a house in the countryside. Bruno starts his expedition around the house and one day he finds a huge fence - including the camp on the other side. He makes friends with Schmuel, a Jewish boy, and soon they became best friends - with fatal consequences...

It's a relatively thin book - with 216 pages - so it's the perfect lecture for your vacations.

It is an affectionately told story, which could have happend like that in real life - you'll never know.

Today I'll give 4 stars out of 5 - and some tissues!

See you soon!
